Rachael is originally from Lakewood, Colorado. She began gymnastics at the age of 4, and then competitive gymnastics at age 7. She competed for two gyms in Colorado and was coached by some of the sport’s well-known coaches during her childhood. At 19 she began coaching under the then Owner and Head Coach of JET Gymnastics in Littleton, CO. She coached at all levels during her time there, learning strong morals and coaching values, safety practices and the elements needed to run a successful program. She became the Recreation Program Director there and remained in that position until she left Colorado in 2001. She has also coached gymnastics in Oklahoma and Connecticut. Then finally moving and settling down in Nebraska in 2006. She has been a USAG Professional Member since 1998 and continues to read and attend training updates and seminars, when at all possible, to remain educated and up to date on the ever changing world of artistic gymnastics. She is married to her husband Matthew and has 4 children, Avery (18), Tayson (15), Zoe (13) and Jenessa (12). She brings with her 43 years inside the sport of gymnastics, both as a gymnast and as a coach, as well as a commitment to, and deep love for, the sport. She is passionate about gymnastics’ ability to motivate, heal, inspire and add happiness to the lives of children. She also believes that every child deserves to have the experience they desire in the sport of gymnastics, rather than a coach’s vision of what that should be. When she isn’t in the gym, she is watching her children’s games, helping with school functions / activities, riding horses, swimming, and visiting with family. Rachael is extremely excited to be moving over to the Carpenter Center and adding her knowledge and love of the sport to the Carpenter Center’s gymnastics programs.
