Fun, outgoing, selfless, conscientious, are just a few words to describe me. But most importantly I am disciplined. With my position as the Program Director here at The Carpenter Center, it is my responsibility to oversee existing programs, better them, and incorporate new programs in order to reach out to our community and encourage everyone to keep active. As my father was prior military for quite some time, and even trained soldiers, he ingrained the importance of being physically fit and having discipline within me from a young age. The discipline which ran along with being physical, was important as it leaked into every facet of my life. From a young age, I’ve always found peace in physical endeavors. Pushing my body to its absolute physical and mental limits gives me a sense of gratefulness as I have been given such great talent that I believe I have to propagate that talent into others. In any sport I participated in, I would always look to my coaches and respect any advice I received. I’ve coached many sports myself, including wrestling and indoor rock climbing and bouldering, and now with The Ninja Zone. Being raised as a leader all my life, I handle all situations with pristine calmness and finesse. Coaching is quite enjoyable to me as I yearn to pass the athletic skillset I have learned, to those who seek it.

My name is Dylan Wright, although I go by Coach Dylan or Coach “D”. I started my journey with boxing and wrestling as a kid and pursued wrestling a little further once my family and I moved out to Victorville, California. My coach at the time was a “King of the Cage” and UFC fighter, Joe “Daddy” Stevenson. As I grew, I was taught MMA and Brazilian Jiujitsu up until freshman year. Once I moved to the Gering area, I discovered a school that blends Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do. I instantly loved it and pursued traditional martial arts, however the only issue I had was they did not teach all the fun flash kicks I wanted. I became self-taught in the flash moves and recorded myself doing it until I was satisfied with the results. My hard work felt like it finally paid off as soon as I became a coach for the NinjaZone program.
Personally, I love being a coach because nothing is more fulfilling than watching the students grow and become better versions of themselves; both in class and outside of class. Building bonds with the students and becoming a positive role model has become an important role in my life and as challenging as it can be, I love every bit of it. I’m honored to coach both martial arts and NinjaZone, it’s been a great life changing experience and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for me.
